Review: Puss in Boots was what I expected interesting characters, some great laughs (including the Shreklike humor for adults only), and an interesting backstory. Unfortunately, no cameos from major Shrek characters (I always get a kick out of Gingy).

Antonio Banderas does a great job voicing the hero Puss, and the movie provides Puss history with some good laughs and great images. The big eyes look of the adult Puss is topped by the young Puss, and we learn how Puss received his name and his boots.

Humpty Dumpty is Puss longtime friend, who becomes jealous of the young hero Puss and betrays him. But, Humpty Dumpty returns with a plan to achieve their lifelong goal get the goose that lays the golden eggs. Humpty Dumpty has some funny lines and great visual humor. My favorite was Humpty wearing a golden egg costume.

Joining the adventure and rounding out the trio is Kitty Soft Paws, who transitions from Puss nemesis to love interest. The pair has some great chemistry for animated characters. Their adventures include runins with Jack and Jill (not what anyone will expect), magic beans, the beanstalk, and the goose that lays the golden egg.

Overall, kids and adults will love the movie for its humor, cute characters, and action. Puss in Boots is a worthy spinoff of Shrek. And, the movie has a great message about learning from our mistakes, retribution, and making good choices.

Puss in Boots is a genuinely great movie– disappointing summer aside. It’s more refreshing, perhaps, due to the fact that this season has been so lacking, but Puss in Boots easily deserves praise all on its own merits rather than by lack of good competition.

This flick was absolutely cool. Already seen it three times. Loved the comics and this was the most satisfying adaptation I’ve ever seen mixed with the directors personal charm and tweaks. Puss in Boots was just beautiful to watch and so fun to be a part of as an audience. LOVED IT.

I thought Puss in Boots was interesting, it was a new type of funny movie, and a smart one as well. After that it all went downhill. I saw 3 movies too many. Now I cannot bear to even watch this movie again, but, apparently there are still people out there that can enjoy a movie like this and I am glad they can.

The film Puss in Boots is worth it to watch. the Puss in Boots is so phenomenal. It’s a strangely paced film and suffers at times from very long exposition and poorly contrived story lines that seem to be added to no doubt develop the storyline rather than the Puss in Boots story that I wanted to see.

I agree with you on Puss in Boots – the first half hour of it was great, actually. tailed off a bit towards end but still a way better film than it should have been

Puss in Boots combines parts of Pocahontas and Braveheart using a liberal dose of Room Marines into an epic entire that requires virtually 3 complete hours to unfold. We could criticise that length, the weak story as well as the hammy dialogue. We could attack its thinly-veiled ecological message or even the frankly bizarre spirituality in its second 50 % but honestly practically nothing can spoil the encounter although that you are enveloped in it. Including a big aspect of that could be down for the brilliant use of 3D – which can be both subtle and extremely useful. Til now, we are already having films with 3D factors, Avatar is definitely the primary certainly 3D movie and may properly prove that need be a person from the most major items to come about to blockbuster film-making seeing as Puss in Boots.

I didn’t find it to long, it was at times a little too knowing and even self indulgent but I guess a film like that has to be! It makes my top ten of the year so far. Lets see if it stays there!

The two great things about Puss in Boots are the feel and the acting. When I say feel I am referring to everything from the costumes and makeup all the way to the photography combining to capture the look of the time perfectly. The soundtrack is also pretty good too as you would expect!
